GETTING STARTED

Preparing for Home Ownership with RMN

Did you know that down payments are the biggest hurdle to first time home ownership? We understand it can be overwhelming, but RMN is here to help! Whether you have no money down or 20% down, we have a variety of lending options for you as a first time home buyer.

Loan Terms

We feel it is important to help you understand loan terms and make it a priority to go over them with you during our first appointment. From Fixed Rate and ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) to Amortization, we strive to educate you on exactly what it is you’re signing off on.

The first appointment is critical so you are ready with a firm preapproval when you make an offer on a property. The preapproval is a letter that describes the home loan type and terms. This is provided to the seller’s Realtor so that they know you are in a position to make a bona fide offer on the property.

Once your offer is accepted, we will meet to go over the initial disclosures and lock in your interest rate (provided you are within 60 days of closing). If an in-person meeting is not convenient for you, we have electronic signatures available! This is an exciting time for you and we help you work through all of the questions you may have. At RMN we will help you choose a loan program that suits your lifestyle. We educate you on the programs available and the details of the home loan process. The more you know and understand, the less intimidating the home buying or refinancing process is to you.

Contact us for a phone or office visit to get you started. We promise you will be happy with our products and service. We were all first-time home buyers once, too!

Types of Loans

Many first time home buyers take advantage of the USDA Rural Development loan because it does not require any down payment. However, we have many other home loan options available:
